I am a humanistic psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and groups. I bring humour and warmth to my work and draw on several models including Gestalt experiments, formative psychology and (more recently) Pesso Boyden structures depending on what seems most relevant and useful in the moment.

I have lived and worked in several different countries and am now based in North London.  I live with my long term partner, my two sons, my Irish terrier and black cat. As well as being a parent I am also a step-parent.

I have a degree in Modern and Medieval Languages (French and Spanish) from Cambridge University .  After graduating I spent a year living in Cairo, studying  Arabic. I then qualified as a solicitor and worked in the City for several years before training as a psychotherapist.

I am a graduate of the Spectrum psychotherapy training programme and accredited with the BACP.  I have completed my PBSP training and am working towards accreditation..

Main areas of practice

Anxiety, Depression, Anger management, Parenting issues, Relationships, Self –esteem,  Sexuality, Couples counselling, Bereavement and Stress.

Dear Kate – I have just started the Pesso Boyden training and I am looking for a group to join. I believe you currently run a group that is full at the moment. Do you have a waiting list that I could join or could you recommend someone else who may be able to accommodate me? I live in Colchester, Essex. I am happy to travel a reasonable distance. Many thanks. Melanie Evans
